There's a New Year's themed contest at Big Closet, and magichsoppe encouraged me to join in. So I wrote something fluffy that just sort of takes the transformation for granted, and rolls from there. I'll post "New Year's Revolutions" here at some point, after it's had a week or two of exclusivity there.
And so we're done with Moonstone. There may be little scraps here and there, I'd like to revisit some of the interesting characters and their situation, much like the VixenTails I did between some of the books. But that's for another time.
For now, JMD recently pointed out I broke the 1M (home) pageviews mark a little while ago, and I feel I should do something to celebrate. Finishing Moonfire sort-of-counts, but... well, I've got a half dozen stories that have been poking at me semi-insistently for a while now. I'd like to hear which you'd like to see next, or any other ideas you might have.
The list, in no particular order (new stories only, I have many series I want to continue too):
Blackboxing (vaguely JMD-Inventor related, playing with a clothing TF remote)
TM-Cleanup (Janitor dealing with the messes caused by the Trust Machine at the mall he works at, and... other fun stuff.)
TM-Responsible (A Venn Machine 'get people stuck' rampage has consequences.)
Subby Wand (Silly new prop. Some mental TF, some physical, all temporary... if a bit addictive.)
TM-Collectible (Little more than a sketch: using the Venn Machine to create dolls for a dollhouse, and some poking at handling clones and willingness.)
Illuminating (Involves a partial gender TF prop of sorts. And bowling.)
Simplification (Marketplace Magic story involving a defective time-locking collar...)
Table Stakes (Yet another magic card game story. Rules are simple, consequences... not so much.)
Sorry about this. I got caught up working on the next chapter of Happy Fun Ball, and totally lost track of the schedule. Next Moonfire chapter will be in two weeks on the full Moon, and I'll try to get Happy Fun Ball 16 done before then...
I'm getting to a point in Moonfire where events are moving faster, and story beats should be hitting a little closer together. This means more 'chapter end' spots I'd like to have land as chapter ends, not chapter middles. I'm getting back into a 4k words per month groove on Moonfire, so this would mean posting 2k-ish chapters twice a month, instead of 4k once per month.
If I do this, I'll probably stick to the new Moon/full Moon schedule I used for Moontouched and Mooncalled, possibly starting next week.
I'll try to keep it from impacting the release of other content (I'm 3.5 chapters ahead on Happy Fun Ball, so I have some buffer for now, and Moonfire 21 is half-done with the rest of it pretty well scoped in.)
I'd like to hear your thoughts on this shift.
